Yn y refferendwm yn 2016 fe bleidleisiodd 70% o bobl rhwng 18-24 mlwydd oed bleidleisio i aros yn yr UE, wedi cymharu gydag ond 40% o’r rheini dros 65. Yn anffodus, fe wnaeth llai o bobl ifanc bleidleisio yn y refferendwm yna – 64% o bobl rhwng 18-24 yn erbyn 90% o bobl dros 65.
Ers y refferendwm amcangyfrifir bod ddwy filiwn o bobl ifanc wedi dod yn gymwys i bleidleisio a byddai tri-chwarter ohonynt yn pleidleisio i aros yn yr UE pe byddai refferendwm arall. O’r rai sydd yn dweud bydden nhw’n sicr o bleidleisio, mae’r gefnogaeth dros aros yn codi i 87%.
Yn ôl yr un arolwg BMG ym Mawrth 2019 dwedodd 55% o bleidleiswyr ifanc y bysen nhw’n grac pe byddai Prydain yn gadael yr UE heb bleidlais newydd. Dim ond 9% dwedodd bysen nhw’n hapus.
Mae gan fyfyrwyr rhesymau ychwanegol dros gefnogi aelodaeth i’r UE. Mae eu prifysgolion yn ddibynnol iawn ar gronfeydd ymchwil y UE. Mae’r rhaglen Erasmus wedi caniatáu i filoedd o fyfyrwyr, yn AU a AB, a phobl ifanc eraill i astudio, gwirfoddoli, teithio a byw mewn gwledydd eraill yn y UE, a ledled y byd.
Mae bron 130,000 o ddisgyblion mewn prifysgolion a sefydliadau Addysg Bellach yng Nghymru. O gymharu gyda mwyafrif y garfan Gadael o 82,000 yn unig yng Nghymru yn y refferendwm yn 2016.
