“I campaigned for us to remain in the EU, however the majority who took part voted to leave. We need to respect that. However I do not want to see all good legislation lost at the same time.

I am pleased that all EU law that we use will be made UK law so that the day after we leave there will be no legal change.

I also want to see this as an opportunity for Swansea and the City Deal, which Theresa May signed in Swansea in March. We need to use this to get even more investment and opportunity for the area, culminating in greater investment and more jobs.

I am pleased that EU funding will be replaced with similar funding from the UK Government so projects in Wales and other areas can continue to benefit. However I think we need to reconsider whether EU money was always spent in the best possible way. Part of the reason for the referendum result could be that many people did not feel the EU money was spent in the right way or that it actually made a difference to them.

Finally, I am extremely pleased to see that top of Theresa May’s list was a pledge to protect those EU nationals already in the UK.”
